Reindeer Hide for Indoor and Outdoor Use Reindeer hides have many uses. Use it as a sleeping pad, indoor decoration, seat pad, in a sled, on horseback, or in a wagon. These hides are thick, beautiful, and provide excellent insulation. This is a natural product from animals raised in Sweden and Norway. As with all natural products, each hide is unique in size, color, and shape. The reindeer hide is tanned. If the hide becomes wet, dry it slowly at a low indoor temperature. Brush with a soft brush if needed. Shake to remove dust or loose particles. Some hair will shed over time – this is natural and will continue throughout the hide’s lifespan. Note: The hide is not silicone-treated, which means it may become wet if placed directly on damp ground. You can use the hide indoors as a wall decoration or similar. If you place it on the floor and walk on it, more hair may shed – this is normal and simply a result of indoor warmth. The best place to store the hide when not in use is somewhere cooler than typical room temperature, such as a basement or garage. This helps keep the hide in good condition, as it thrives better in a cooler environment. Reindeer hides are also excellent for use under a saddle on horses. The hollow structure of the reindeer hairs provides both insulation and pressure distribution, making it ideal for sensitive horses. The fur is also moisture-repellent and soft against the horse’s back. This is B-grade. B-grade hides may have small defects such as insect bites, minor holes from the tanning process, or similar imperfections. These are typically only visible on the reverse side.
