How should you dress for a hunting trip?

When heading out on a hunt, especially if you're going to sit in a stand for a long time, it's important to dress properly. It can get cold and possibly wet, so dressing in layers is essential. Start with a functional base layer—if it’s very cold, we recommend merino wool, which is both warm and moisture-wicking. As a mid-layer, a fleece or warm wool sweater works well. On top, wear water-repellent trousers and a jacket. In very cold weather, overtrousers and an extra sweater may be necessary. On your feet, insulated rubber boots are an option, but sturdy boots are the best choice. They provide support for your feet and ankles and help keep you warm. A pair of warm, comfortable wool socks is also recommended, as wool keeps your feet warm even when damp.
