How should you dress for a hunting trip?

When heading out on a hunt and potentially sitting in a stand for a long time, it’s important to be properly dressed. It can get cold, and possibly wet, so dressing in layers is essential. Start with a functional base layer—if it’s very cold, we recommend a merino wool base layer, which is warm and effectively wicks moisture away from the body. For the mid-layer, a fleece sweater or cozy wool jumper works well. The outer layer should consist of water-resistant trousers and a jacket. If it's especially cold, you might need overtrousers and an extra sweater. On your feet, insulated rubber boots can work, but sturdy boots are best. Boots provide extra support to your feet and ankles while keeping you warm. A pair of warm, comfortable wool socks is also recommended—wool keeps your feet warm even when damp.
